I discovered a new kind of orange at the co-op today: Cara Cara. They are pink like grapefruit inside, and very flavorful. I don’t like most oranges, but I like these.
I also made orange agave chocolate chip cookies from Vegan Cookies Take Over Your Cookie Jar. Yummy enough, but I still prefer plain chocolate chip cookies.
Whenever my mixing bowl is sitting on the table, Teeny Sprocket has to hop inside. It is the perfect size for him.

I’ll have to try the Cara Cara oranges. Do they look kind of lumpy, like a tangelo, or are they still smooth and round like a regular orange?

smooth and round like a regular orange. i thought they were regular ones, until i peeled it and saw its color was like a grapefruit, and so i found the variety by the sticker number.

Pink oranges? Wow. They sound beautiful. Are they sweet? Lately the only oranges I find are really sour. They look great but make giant face-puckers.

The Cara Caras weren’t sour at all. Mellow and sweet.

Aw. Oranges can be so disappointing.
Apples too. Sometimes you can swear it is going to be super crisp and yummy, but the first bite is mealy and blah. 😛
I’ve heard of those oranges. Not sure if I’ve tried them though.
